CLM Friends

What is CLM Friends?

CLM Friends is a new, free befriending service, run by CLM Church in Ormskirk, that aims to provide company and friendship for residents within the local community.

Everyone needs someone, but unfortunately not everyone has someone.  This can be due to changes in our circumstances and in our health as we go through life.

CLM Friends recognises this and are here to help. If you or someone you care for is experiencing this, we can help to provide a friendly face to visit you, so you can continue doing the things you enjoy.

There’s no need to be alone, a CLM Friend can help keep you connected with the world outside.

Who are CLM Friends?

A CLM Friend is a volunteer for CLM Church. All volunteers are DBS checked and approved by CLM Church and give their time freely.

We will aim to match you with a CLM Friend who has similar interests to yourself.

How do I get a CLM Friend for Myself or Someone I Know?

Contact us via the email or other options on the contact page and a member of our team will meet you and talk through your needs, your likes and dislikes and give you more information about the service.  Once we know you we can compare your details with those of our volunteers to see who we feel would be most suitable for you, and don’t worry, if you feel your volunteer is not compatible you can say so at any time and we will try again.

How do I become a volunteer CLM Friend?

If you would like to become a volunteer CLM Friend we ask you to complete a volunteer form and return it to us via email: Once received a member of the team will contact you and arrange a meeting.  We do require all CLM Friends to complete a DBS check and attend an induction session, before being matched.
